An optimization to the battery management system has also boosted the customer-accessible battery capacity. Leveraging high-powered charging stations, the Audi Q8 50 e-tron attains a maximum charging rate of 150 kW. With the Q8 55 e-tron and SQ8 e-tron, this capability escalates to an impressive 170 kW. During approximately 31 minutes at a high-powered charging station, the larger battery can be charged from ten to 80 percent, equating to an estimated range of up to 420 kilometers (per WLTP). When utilizing an AC charging station or wallbox, the Audi Q8 e-tron supports up to 11 kW charging. For those seeking more, an optional AC charging capacity of up to 22 kW is available.

Under optimal circumstances, the Audi Q8 50 e-tron can be fully charged in around nine hours and 15 minutes (or around four hours and 45 minutes with 22 kW) using alternating current. The larger battery's charging times are approximately 11 hours and 30 minutes at 11 kW and six hours at 22 kW. Notably, the Audi Q8 e-tron comes standard with the Plug & Charge functionality. Compatible charging stations grant the vehicle permission and activate the charging point upon cable insertion, with automatic billing. The forthcoming Audi charging service, set to launch in 2023 and eventually replacing the existing e-tron Charging Service, will offer seamless access to approximately 400,000 public charging stations across Europe.
