With the new Bentayga Hybrid, Bentley is for the first time offering a hybrid motorisation to the world's most luxurious SUV.
The company has combined a new turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine with a highly efficient electric motor without compromising on the exquisite comfort, tranquil interior and effortless engine performance expected from a Bentley.
Drivers will be able to manage battery and petrol engine usage in two ways:
- By choosing manually between three E modes; EV Drive, Hybrid Mode and Hold Mode
- By letting the vehicle use satellite navigation information and automatically plan the best usage of the E-modes or petrol engine based on the journey calculated in the sat nav. For example, when arriving in a city, the vehicle will switch to electric motorisation for maximum efficiency.
The electric range will be over 31 miles (50km). It will take about 7.5 hours to fully charge the battery from 0% to 100%, and just 2.5 hours when using an industrial connection at home.
To display all information to the driver, such as whether the vehicle is being powered by energy supplied by the battery or the combustion engine, the Bentley Bentayga Hybrid will have an 8” touch screen infotainment system coming with a choice of 30 languages and a 60GB hard drive.
Passengers will benefit from entertainment tablets with connectivity to 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
